This session will summarize the history, current status, and future for uncontrolled donation after circulatory determination of death (uDCDD) programs in the United States.
Session objectives are:
1. Understand uDCDD’s potential to solve the organ donor crisis in the United States
2. Describe political/ethical barriers to uDCDD identified from U.S. pilot programs
3. Explain how U.S. uDCDD programs can realize success given the current political / ethical environment
