Regulatory T Cell Biomarkers Identify Patients at Risk of Developing Acute Cellular Rejection in the First Year Following Heart Transplantation
Acute cellular rejection (ACR), an alloimmune response involving CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, occurs in up to 20% of patients within the first year following heart transplantation. The balance between a conventional versus regulatory CD4+ T cell alloimmune response is believed to contribute to developing ACR. Therefore, tracking these cells may elucidate whether changes in these cell populations could signal ACR risk.

This study aims to investigate the rationality of the allocation guidelines in a hepatitis B endemic area that uses corneas from hepatitis B donors.

Low C-reactive Protein and Urea Distinguish Primary Nonfunction From Early Allograft Dysfunction Within 48 Hours of Liver Transplantation
Primary nonfunction (PNF) is a life-threatening complication of liver transplantation (LT), but in the early postoperative period, it can be difficult to differentiate from early allograft dysfunction (EAD). The aim of this study was to determine if serum biomarkers can distinguish PNF from EAD in the initial 48 h following LT.
Pre-exposure Prophylaxis with Tixagevimab-cilgavimab did not Reduce Severity of COVID-19 in Lung Transplant Recipients with Breakthrough Infection
Lung transplant recipients (LTRs) have an increased risk of COVID-19–related morbidity and mortality. Tixagevimab-cilgavimab (tix-cil) is a long-acting monoclonal antibody combination granted Emergency Use Authorization approval by the US Food and Drug Administration for COVID-19 pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in immunocompromised patients. We sought to determine whether tix-cil 300–300 mg reduced the incidence and disease severity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection in LTRs during the Omicron wave.
