I am an infectious diseases physician with specialized clinical expertise in transplant medicine and antimicrobial stewardship. I completed a fellowship in Transplant Infectious Disease and Antimicrobial Stewardship at Northwestern University, where I managed complex infectious disease cases in immunocompromised patients, particularly lung transplant recipients. This experience gave me hands-on proficiency in diagnosing and treating challenging infections in high-risk populations and in leading antimicrobial stewardship efforts to optimize patient outcomes. Alongside my clinical training, I hold a Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) from Northwestern University, which strengthens my ability to translate bedside observations into sound clinical questions.

I am actively engaged in the international transplant infectious diseases community, serving as an Ambassador for the Immunocompromised Host Society (ICHS) and as Vice Chair of the CPC-TID-TTS webinar series. Through these roles, I contribute to education, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among clinicians and researchers advancing the care of immunocompromised and transplant patients worldwide.

Afrah S. Sait, MBBS, MAS, FRCPC, is an Adult Transplant and Oncology Infectious Diseases Consultant at King Fahad Specialist Hospital–Dammam, with clinical expertise in the management of multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens in immunocompromised and critically ill populations. She serves as Deputy Program Director of the Adult Infectious Diseases Fellowship and chaired the Sepsis Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee of the Eastern Health Cluster, which spans 22 hospitals. She is actively involved in antimicrobial stewardship for immunocompromised patients, where her day-to-day work supports the judicious use of antimicrobials and the containment of resistant organisms.

Dr. Sait is board certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and completed her training at Johns Hopkins, Tufts Medical Center, and the University of British Columbia

Camille Nelson Kotton, MD, FIDSA, FAST, is the clinical director of the Transplant and Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Program in the Infectious Diseases Division at Massachusetts General Hospital, and associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Dr Kotton’s clinical interests include cytomegalovirus, vaccines, donor-derived infections, zoonoses, and travel and tropical medicine in the transplant setting. Dr Kotton has served as the chair of The Infectious Disease Community of Practice of The American Society of Transplantation. She has also served as the president of The Transplant Infectious Disease Section of The Transplantation Society. Highlights of her work include the development of 4 versions of the international guidelines on CMV management after solid organ transplant and updated international guidelines on BK management. She is the first transplant infectious disease specialist to be on the executive committee of The Transplantation Society.

Professor Peter Chiodini OBE PhD FRCP FRCPath is Director of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Malaria Reference Laboratory, and the Diagnostic Parasitology Laboratory, at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine; and Scheme Organiser for the UK National External Quality Assessment Schemes for Parasitology. He advises the National Blood Service on prevention of transfusion-transmitted parasitic infections. He is also a clinician, with special interests in malaria and echinococcosis. His research interests include new diagnostic methods for parasitic infections; malaria; Chagas disease; and echinococcosis. In 2018, he was awarded an OBE for services to parasitology and malaria.
