Agnes Azimzadeh Award

The International Xenotransplantation Association has developed the Agnes Azimzadeh Award to recognize significant contribution to the field of xenotransplantation by a woman, in honor of the contributions of Agnès M. Azimzadeh, PhD, to the field. This biennial award was established specifically by IXA council to support and foster female researchers who are building their career in Xenotransplantation, or to recognize their accomplishments.

Keith Reemtsma
Lecture Endowment Fund

The International Xenotransplantation Association has developed the Keith Reemtsma Lecture Endowment Fund to enable an eminent scientist who has contributed to the field of xenotransplantation to share his or her research findings at the biennial IXA Congress. The Endowed lectureship will pay travel costs for the invited speaker to attend the IXA Congress.

DAVID K.C. COOPER YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD and ENDOWMENT Fund

The International Xenotransplantation Association has developed the David K.C. Cooper Young Investigator Award to recognize a young scientist who has contributed to the field of xenotransplantation by sharing his or her research findings at the biennial IXA Congress. This award funded by generous IXA member donations, will recognize one scientist to attend the IXA Congress.

Carl-Gustav Groth
Xeno Prize

IXA members are eligible for the Carl-Gustav Groth Xeno Prize. This prize of US $7,000 is jointly sponsored by the International Xenotransplantation Association (IXA) and the publisher of Xenotransplantation (Wiley). The Xeno Prize will be awarded to the first author of the best paper published in the journal Xenotransplantation each calendar year.

YOUNG INVESTIGATORS ENDOWMENT RESEARCH FUND (YIER)

IXA has created a new endowment fund to support the education, research and mentorship of the next generation of professionals in Xenotransplantation. Donations will be collected into an endowment fund managed by IXA and TTS. The funds raised will support a variety of initiatives, which will be coordinated by the fundraising and endowment committee (FREC), under the leadership of the IXA Council. Examples of initiatives to be supported will include travel awards to attend IXA meetings, and financial support to travel to different institutions across the world in order to broaden the research experience of scholars.
