Overview:
This presentation will discuss aspects of nutrition including nutritional assessment pre transplant, choice of feeds and advancement immediately post transplant along with nutritional rehabilitation including introduction of oral diet & finally aspects of nutritional interventions and support for post transplant complications. This session will be very much a practical application of nutritional care with a reflection of practices across the UK.
Biography:
Mrs. Sara Clarke is a qualified dietitian working in paediatric setting for 25years. She has been the lead specialist dietitian in the intestinal transplant program in Birmingham, UK for 15 years, and extensive experience in the nutritional management of transplantation supporting many children and families through transplantation and providing advice nutritional support during periods of post transplant complications. Mrs. Clarke the first AHP council member on the IRTA council and was awarded the inaugural AHP Outstanding Achievement Award in 2013. She has been an active member of the AHP committee for several years contributing to the organisation of the IRTA pre symposia AHP study days.
