Regional Structure of Council
TTS is moving to increase its global outreach and representation and with the approval of The Transplantation Society’s new by-laws (2004) this has become a reality. Commencing with the next election of officers and councilors (2006) the open Councilors-at-large positions must be filled so as to guarantee representation from each of the six new global regions. These new global regions are: North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa/Middle East, and Oceania. By the end of the 2006 elections, each region shall be represented by at least one Councilor-at-large, but the number from any one region shall not exceed the proportion of members in good standing from that region in the Society.
