1. Understanding of chimerism and tolerance
2. Status of current studies in chimerism in VCA
Vascularized Composite Allotransplants (VCA) are immunologically complex units, often comprised of a bone marrow component and microenvironment. Chimerism induces donor-specific tolerance. This presentation will highlight the role of donor bone marrow chimerism in promoting acceptance of VCA. It will provide a review of the current status of chimerism from bench to the bedside.
