Overview

This presentation will review the recommended evaluation for latent and active infections in patient prior to planned organ transplantation, including evaluation for endemic exposures and updating vaccines. 

Objectives

  1. Discuss the role infectious disease consultants have in pre-transplant evaluation and why it matters
  2. Review the history taking and laboratory/radiology evaluation recommended to evaluate for latent and active infections prior to organ transplantation
  3. Review the recommended evaluation and administration of vaccines prior to organ transplant
