This month has a substantial focus on practical issue surrounding organ perfusion and what is being learnt from the various types of organ perfusion. From rat models and xenotransplants to clinical practice, it is a field where much is yet to be resolved. across the issue there are intersting papers on cancer after kidney transplantation, tricuspid regurgitation after heart transplantation and donor post poperative pain. A scholarly address on the impact of genomics in unravelling disparity in outcomes is a pleasure to read.

Simultaneous liver-kidney transplantation (SLKT) is increasingly used for patients with concurrent end-stage liver and renal disease. Emerging evidence suggests that simultaneous liver transplant can provide a tolerogenic benefit to multiorgan transplant recipients. Posttransplant donor-specific antibody (DSA) may be associated with worse outcomes; however, the role for testing DSA in SLKT is unclear.
